The Las Vegas Raiders have kicked off the 2026 offseason by spending in free agency and it will continue.
We will see how these deals work out, but the franchise most hope they have better success with high-ticket acquisitions than they did the past two offseason. In fact, the signings have been historically bad.
According to NFL data analyst Anthony Reinhard are responsible for the two most one-and-done player contract in NFL history.
They traded for quarterback Geno Smith last year and paid him $58.5
million for one season. He is being released. In 2024, the previous Las Vegas regime played free-agent defensive tackle Christian Wilkins $49.8 million. In 2025, the current Las Vegas regime released Wilkins after a bizarre situation.
Smith and Wilkins played a combined 20 games for Las Vegas, costing a whopping $108.3 million.
Ouch.
