2025-26 Season Recap:
- 16-18 record, 9-11 in conference play
- Finished in 5th place in the Big East
- Lost to Seton Hall in the Big East Tournament (Quarterfinals)
Head Coach: Alan Huss, who takes over for the retiring Greg McDermott. Huss played at Creighton from 1997-2001, and after multiple coaching stops became an assistant under McDermott in 2017. In 2023, Huss took the head coaching position with High Point, leading the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament in 2025. After that run, Huss decided to return to Creighton as the “coach in waiting.” As it turns out, he didn’t have to wait very long.

Jasen Green – 6’8” graduate who averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 54.4% from the field and 35.1% from three.
Austin Swartz – 6’4” junior who averaged 10.9 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 38.3% from three.
Isaac Traudt – 6’10” senior who averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 37.5% from three.
Hudson Greer – 6’7” sophomore who averaged 4.7 points and 2 rebounds per game on 40.4% from three.
Jackson McAndrew – 6’10” junior who averaged 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Only appeared in four games due to a foot injury.
Shane Thomas – 6’3” senior who averaged 0.8 points per game in 18 games played.
New Players:
Wes Enis – 6’1” senior transfer from South Florida who averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Enis shot 39.1% from the floor and 35.2% from three.
Oswin Erhunmwunse – 6’10” junior transfer from Providence who averaged 6.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Erhunmwunse shot 67.3% from the field.
BJ Davis – 6’1” senior transfer from San Diego State who averaged 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game on 37.4% from three.
Brody Robinson – 5’11” graduate transfer from Oakland who averaged, 17.6 points, 6.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game on 36.8% from three.
Fred King – 6’9” graduate transfer from Murray State who averaged 13.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. King played his first three seasons with the Blue Jays.
Kayden Edwards – 6’3” sophomore transfer from TCU who averaged 3.2 points per game on 43.5% from three.
Trevon Carter-Givens – 6’10” freshman who is a four-star recruit on 247Sports (116th overall).
Katrelle Harmon – 6’4” freshman who is a four-star recruit on 247Sports (56th overall).
Wesly Rosa – 7’2” senior transfer from Dream City Community College who averaged 8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game.
Overall thoughts:
There’s going to be skepticism any time that you lose a great coach like Greg McDermott. But the Blue Jays did this the right way, having a coach ready who has at least proven to be able to win at a high level in college. Huss steps in for McDermott after an incredibly-disappointing season, so in that sense he won’t have a lot of expectations to uphold.
The recipe for success in today’s game is retention and experience, and Creighton has both of those. The Blue Jays return four rotation players from a year ago in Jasen Green, Hudson Greer, Austin Swartz and Isaac Traudt, while also retaining Jackson McAndrew, whom there is a lot of optimism about. The transfer class is impressive, with two of those transfers, Brody Robinson and Fred King, being recently added due to being granted a fifth year of eligibility. There are rumblings that Oswin Erhunmwunse is injured, so King could play a big role to start the year. Meanwhile, Robinson projects to be the starting point guard and table-setter. Robinson was 11th in the country in assists this past year.
The top transfer acquisition for Creighton was Wes Enis, who was South Florida’s leading scorer a year ago. Enis and BJ Davis add much-needed toughness in the Blue Jay backcourt, with the aforementioned Erhunmwunse being a proven Big East contributor when healthy. Past that, Creighton has intriguing young players and a 7’2” junior college transfer in Wesly Rosa who could play roles.
A lot of talk in the conference has been about the improvement of Marquette, Xavier and Providence, but I think Creighton needs to be squarely in those talks. If the Blue Jays finish anywhere from fourth to seventh, it wouldn’t be a surprise. But in an improved conference, that should be good enough to return to the NCAA Tournament.
