Bundesliga’s 13th-place Hamburger SV managed the impossible by getting a 2-2 draw in their stadium against mighty giants Bayern Munich and head coach Merlin Polzin could not be more satifisfied. After the match, Pozlin praised his team’s courage and preparation during the week, while thanking the fans support in their home venue. “We showed quite a few things on the pitch today that we prepared with the team during the week. I’m very happy we were able to use the magic of our home stadium for our performance,”
he said (as captured by FCBayern.com).
Moreover, Polzin complimented his team’s courage and how they daringly tackled the game against the Bundesliga leader, while also acknowledging that a bit of luck is needed when facing an opponent of that caliber. “We repeated at half-time that we would prefer our players to risk making mistakes rather than play with fear. We were able time and again to create good situations. On top of that, you need a bit of luck not to concede too many goals, and we had that today,” he concluded.
