Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
Can you believe it? We’re only eight days away from the Seattle Seahawks opening their 2026 season and unveiling their Super Bowl 60 banner. They will begin their quest for a third Lombardi Trophy with a rematch against the New England Patriots, who had no answers for the Seahawks defense back in February.
This might be an “immediate rematch”
but it is one in name only. The Patriots significantly retooled their wide receiver room by trading for A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, added former Seahawk Dre’Mont Jones to the pass rush, and notably brought in veteran safety Kevin Byard. They also signed Alijah Vera-Tucker to help bolster a brutal offensive line.
Seattle, of course, is mostly the same team but different in key areas. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker is now in Kansas City, paving the way for Jadarian Price to become the new face of Seattle’s backfield. Tory Horton should be available for Week 1, whereas Nick Emmanwori isn’t a lock. Ty Okada replaces Coby Bryant, Dante Fowler Jr replaces Boye Mafe, and Nehemiah Pritchett figures to be Riq Woolen’s replacement for now. Oh yes, and there’s a new offensive coordinator in Brian Fleury.
New year, same teams, but it’s not the same matchup. Treat it like a new game when the rosters have had enough meaningful change.
The survey is simple: Who wins the rematch?
You can pick between 1-8 pts or 9+ pts for either team. I think we will tweak the options a little bit moving forward for score predictions but we’ll stick with the classics one more time. There is no “tie” option because, while possible, no one seriously picks NFL football games this way. Association football? Sure. But not gridiron football.
