Bayern Munich’s front office has already said to expect a relatively quiet winter transfer window, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ongoing squad planning idea going on behind the scenes. Prepping for
the future at the club is a perpetual task that can get especially tricky when navigating multiple key contracts that are up for renewal, as his been the case in recent seasons at Bayern. Eberl’s baptism by fire at Bayern after he joined the club following his dismissal from RB Leipzig alongside Christoph Freund and Jan-Christian Dreesen included contract renewals for Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala.
While there are not any big transfer plans for this winter before the second half of the season starts, Bayern have been keeping their eyes and ears open to opportunities where they present themselves. As such, per information from Sky Sports (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern is keeping tabs on RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande, who is currently with the Ivory Coast squad in Morocco for the African Cup of Nations. In addition to the German Rekordmeister, both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in the 19-year-old that’s made a name for himself so far this season for Die Roten Bullen.
So far this season, Diomande has tallied a total of seven goals and four assists from sixteen appearances across all competitions as Leipzig currently sit in fourth place in the Bundesliga table and are onto the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal, where they are set to take on Bayern at the Allianz Arena in February.
Some reports have suggested that Leipzig currently valuate their prized winger somewhere in the region of 100 million euros, but Sky Sports understand his value to be more realistically somewhere in the range of 60-70 million euros. As per Transfermarkt, he is currently valuated at 45 million euros after the most recent market value updates. His value has seen a steady increase ever since he joined Leipzig from Leganes during last summer’s transfer window for 20 million euros. As things currently stand, his contract at Leipzig runs through June 2030, which probably why they have him internally valuated so highly. Selling to a direct Bundesliga rival like Bayern would also make them far less willing to budge on price should things get more serious and head to the proverbial negotiating table.
