Barcelona have confirmed that young midfielder Tommy Marques has completed a transfer to Portuguese side Braga.
Marques made his first-team debut last season and looked to set to break into the Hansi Flick’s squad at Barca. However, the arrival of Rodri has changed the club’s plans and has seen Tommy depart for a new challenge.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“Agreement reached between FC Barcelona and SC Braga for the transfer of the player Tommy Marqués. The Club has included a buyback option and a sell-on percentage in the transfer.
“FC Barcelona would like to wish Tommy Marqués all the best in this new chapter and appreciates his commitment throughout his spell at the Club.”
Marques has signed on at Braga until 2031 on a transfer that is worth up to 12 million euros. Tommy will wear the No. 16 shirt at his new club.
Good luck at Braga, Tommy!
