The NBA has released results of their annual survey of General Managers, polling the opinions of multiple executives on the league’s best and brightest. The survey includes predictions of the eventual NBA Champion (the San Antonio Spurs, followed closely by the Oklahoma City Thunder), league MVP (Victor Wembanyama in a runaway), and much more.
The Portland Trail Blazers appeared several times in the polls this year, seldom among the top echelons, but present nonetheless. Here’s the list of all Trail Blazers mentions
for 2026-27:
In Western Conference Standings the Blazers came in 7th, apparently receiving a single fourth-place vote. The Spurs and Thunder nearly tied for the top spot.
In the Breakout Season department, guard Ja Morant received honorable mention.
Forward Toumani Camara got honorable mention for Most Versatile Defender.
Similarly, Jrue Holiday got honorable mention notice for Active Player Who Will Make the Best Coach Someday.
Rising above the honorable mention ranks, the Blazers tied for 5th place in Success Toughest to Predict.
In the Fastest Player with the Ball category, Ja Morant placed 3rd with 13% of the vote. Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey and San Antonio’s De’Aaron Fox outranked him.
Damian Lillard earned honorable mention for Best Leader and Player Taking the Shot with the Game on the Line.
It’s an odd collection of designations, but hey…at least the team got noticed somewhere!
