Derry Scherhant has completed two games for the German national football team and got four points from six. Speaking after the 0-0 draw to Greece, the 23-year-old said that playing for Die Mannschaft is a dream come true for him.
“Playing for the German national team is a dream come true for me,” Scherhant said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “I enjoyed it a lot, I tried to show myself and not to hide. Everything happened quickly for me. When I see where I was 5 years ago, and now playing
for the national team, I still have to process it.”
Scherhant got noticed for his pace, creativity, and dribbling skills. It was on display in the 2-0 win over Serbia in midweek and it was present in today’s match. The young attacker was very active in attack, always taking his man on and looking for an opportunity to pass or score. Although Germany were held scoreless, Scherhant made sure Greece had to work for the draw.
