Through the course of the preseason, I provided some video breakdowns on Cade Klubnik’s weekly performances. With the Jets in the market for a quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft, I hope to do the same for college prospects through the season.
Last week was college football’s Week 0. There was a limited slate of games. Few of the top quarterback prospects competed.
The biggest name quarterback to take the field was USC’s Jayden Maiava who faced San Jose State. He is viewed as a potential early round
pick in 2027 if he has a big season. His Week 0 opponent wasn’t very tough, but Maiava had a quality game.
How much can we really take from a performance like that? I tried to figure it out below in my breakdown. Even though the competition wasn’t top tier, there are some good things and a few bad things I think we can take from the film independent of the quality of the defense he faced.
