Over the past eight days, Nebraska added two of the best prospects in the 500 mile radius around Lincoln to its 2026 recruiting class, likely finalizing the class with eight total commits.
On October 28,
Nebraska secured the commitment of Tad Forsyth out of Blue Valley Southwest in Kansas. Then today the Huskers got another big commitment from Nolan Fellers out of Bondurant-Farrar in Iowa — Fellers was on his official visit along with recent commit Zaiyahn Ornelas for Nebraska’s wrestle-offs.
We’ll start with Fellers who is ranked #174 nationally on the Class of 2026 Big Board by MatScouts. He’s a three-time Iowa state placer who has placed third each of the past three seasons — at 138 as a freshman, 150 as a junior, and 157 as a junior. Fellers chose the Huskers over in-state schools Iowa State and Northern Iowa.
Additionally, Fellers competed this fall at Super 32 — the toughest high school folkstyle tournament of the year — and went 4-2. At Iowa Wrestling’s Night of Conflict a month ago, Fellers took on fellow 2026 Husker commit Mason Petersen out of Columbus and dropped the match 13-6 in what could be a roster battle in the future.
In 2024, Fellers finished third at the Dan Gable Donnybrook.
In 2023, Fellers was a 16U Fargo National finalist in Greco-Roman at 145 pounds and finished third at Folkstyle Nationals at the same weight.
As for Forsyth, he won his first Kansas state title this past season as a junior at 175 pounds. As a sophomore, he placed third at 175, and as a freshman he placed fourth at 165.
Forsyth went 3-2 this fall at Super 32 and placed second at Fall Brawl — both up at 190 pounds. At Fall Brawl, Forsyth fell to Creighton Prep’s JT Smith 2-1 in the final. In September, he won a title at the Kansas City Super 32 tournament.
In 2024, he finished second at the Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic where he beat Petersen’s Columbus teammate Jaeston Delano — a Nebraska state champion this past season — 8-3 in the semifinal round.
In 2023, Forsyth won titles at Fall Brawl and Preseason Nationals at 175 pounds.
Lineup Fit
As for Fellers, I would expect him to be at 157 or 165 pounds in college for the Huskers. He’ll likely redshirt next season and be one of the contenders to start after Antrell Taylor graduates.
Forsyth will be a 197-pounder in college. He’ll likely come in next year and redshirt behind Camden McDanel and eventually be a contender to earn the starting spot there in 2027.
