It hasn’t been a great summer for Liverpool Women. With a slew of preseason losses, losing Olivia Smith and Taylor Hinds to Arsenal, and the club dragging their feet before ultimately appointing the polarizing Gareth Taylor as new manager, optimism is not at a high level. All of this to speak of and we haven’t even looked at the first match of the season – the ominous Merseyside Derby at Anfield. The Red Women don’t
have a great track record hosting the Toffees at our historic home, and maybe getting it out of the way early will be better for the rest of the season, but an unexpected surprise would always be welcome. There’s certainly a lot of new signings to bed in, and a chance to truly turn things around.
