Okay, this might be an epidemic.
Bayern Munich announced that it will be without Bara Sapoko Ndiaye for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against SC Freiburg, with the young midfielder sidelined after undergoing an appendectomy.
While the absence of the young talent is unlikely to dominate the headlines, it is another blow for a Bayern Munich squad navigating a demanding stretch of the season. Sapoko Ndiaye joins Aleksandar Pavlović (calf) and Joshua Kimmich (bereavement) as central midfielders not available
for this game.
Ndiaye has been working to establish himself within Bayern Munich’s setup, and every opportunity to play with the first team and gain valuable experience matters at this stage of his development. His absence against SC Freiburg will temporarily interrupt that process.
For now, the priority will be allowing the midfielder sufficient time to recover from the operation before returning to training and resuming his development. Bayern Munich will hope Ndiaye makes a smooth recovery and can get back on the pitch as soon as he is medically cleared to do so.
