When the Cleveland Browns traded DE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, GM Andrew Berry made it clear that acquiring DE Jared Verse was the key to the whole deal. Analyzing the deal overall was difficult, as Verse’s trade value was hard to calculate

as a player at a premium position, going into his third season, with his impressive NFL resume already in hand (DROY, 2 Pro Bowls), just doesn’t change hands in a trade.

While we asked whether you thought Verse could compete with Garrett’s sack totals

in 2026, there is obviously a big difference between the two pass rushers. As the Rams showed in what they were willing to trade away, Garrett’s value is much higher in 2026 than Verse’s. Long-term, if Cleveland can turn those extra picks into productive players, the trade could more than even out.

Especially if Verse has a “monster year,” as NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger predicts:

In two seasons, Verse has had 12 sacks, 124 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 45 QB hits, five forced fumbles, three passes defended, and two fumble recoveries. A “monster year” could see him match some of those totals in one season alone.
