Tennessee will be looking to bounce back from a rough three-game series against Vanderbilt last weekend, one that saw the Volunteers fall to 3-6 in conference play. Josh Elander’s squad is now 19-10 overall, prompting him to shake things up in a couple of different ways.
This weekend will serve as Elander’s first ever SEC series coaching from the dugout, giving up his spot as third base coach. Elander made the swap earlier this week against Austin Peay.
Elander will also shake up the pitching rotation
once again this weekend. Tegan Kuhns returns, but he’ll take over the Saturday spot. Landon Mack, just as he did for Rutgers last year, will take the Friday spot. Evan Blanco remains as the Sunday starter, while Brandon Arvidson will return to the bullpen.
LSU enters 20-10 overall with a 4-5 mark in SEC play, also disappointing to start the season. The Tigers have dropped series to both Vanderbilt and Oklahoma so far, but did bounce back with a series win over Kentucky last weekend.
It’s a series that both sides need badly to get things going with SEC play in full swing.
