After completing a back-to-back against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night, the Colorado Avalanche take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in Denver tonight. This will be the first of two regular-season matchups between these two teams.
Colorado Avalanche(4-2-1)
The Avs enter this game after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Stars, which came on the second night of a back-to-back against Dallas. After that game, Dave Hakstol was officially named the head coach of the ASU Sun Devils hockey team, and Colorado named Brett McLean the assistant
head coach in Hakstol’s place, so it’ll be exciting to see how he looks behind the Colorado bench tonight.
Projected Lineup
Artturi Lehkonen – Nathan MacKinnon – Nazem Kadri
Gabe Landeskog – Brock Nelson – Martin Necas
Jaden Schwartz – Fedor Svechkov – T.J. Hughes
Parker Kelly – Gavin Brindley
Devon Toews – Cale Makar
Brett Kulak – Sam Malinski
Josh Manson – Brent Burns
Noah Juulsen

Pittsburgh Penguins (3-3-1)
After starting the season with a 7-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, the Penguins have stumbled a bit as of late and come into this game off a 5-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. No matter how old this team may be age-wise, this is still an incredibly skilled Penguins team that is looking to make a push for the playoffs again this year. The battle between MacKinnon and Crosby is always super fun to watch, and it should hopefully be a good game again tonight.
Projected Lineup
Rickard Rakell – Sidney Crosby – Bryan Rust
Egor Chinakov – Tommy Novak – Evgeni Malkin
Andrei Kuzmenko – Ben Kindel – Nicholas Robertson
Connor Dewar – Blake Lizotte – Elmer Soderblom
Declan Carlile – Erik Karlsson
Samuel Girard – Kaedan Korczak
Spencer Stastney – Kris Letang
Arturs Silovs
Sergei Murashov
