The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Tennessee Titans by a final score of 33-19 in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season in what began as a fairly back and forth affair between the two squads, until the Rams took over in the back-half of the game after a fantastic strip sack on Cam Ward.
The complimentary football for the Rams wasn’t there for the entire 60-minutes, but it wes there enough for the Rams to move to 2-0.
The Rams started hot with a 7-0 first quarter lead after an impressively long run by Puka Nacua
for his first touchdown of the season. In fact, for the first quarter and half of the second, the Rams were controlling the game and keeping Cam Ward on edge, but the young rookie didn’t flinch.
About halfway through the second quarter, something clicked for Ward and the Titans as Ward made an eye-popping touchdown throw, and easily led a field goal drive after a Matthew Stafford interception.
In what seemed like an instant, the Rams went from leading, to tied up, to trailing 13-10 going into the half.
Stafford would respond after halftime from the interception with his second touchdown throw of the season to Davis Allen, also Allen’s second receiving TD of the year as the Rams took a 20-16 lead with plenty of time left in the final half.
The Rams’ defense has been the best part of this team so far this year, and aside from what could be called a miraculous improvisational TD throw by Ward, and a short field after a Stafford interception, the defense was good again today. And, just like last week, when the Rams needed a turnover, it was the defense that delivered.
After taking the 20-16 lead, the Rams offense stuttered for a bit before Byron Young got to Ward, who forced a fumble which L.A. recovered and gave Stafford and Sean McVay great field position to work with.
The offense then rewarded the defensive effort when Stafford found Davante Adams for the newly acquired receivers first TD of the season and the Rams took a 27-16 lead after the successful extra point.
The Rams then added another touchdown with a Blake Corum rushing TD as the Rams took a 33-16 after having their extra point blocked.
With under 7 minutes to go, the Rams were truly in the driver’s seat to put this one away, and they did.
It was Corum who looked like the better runner today as opposed to Kyren Williams, though Williams closed out the game nicely saving his best work for last. Do the Rams have a true 1-2 punch at their running back position?
Final score: 33-19 Rams over Titans.
The Rams are 2-0 and they’ll take on the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. See you then.
