Last week I wrote an article praising offensive tackle Armand Membou’s preseason week 1 performance.
This week? Well, this week I write an article doing the exact opposite.
Needless to say, that isn’t a banner week for the first round pick. While the run game grade is unsurprising
based on his Membou’s college profile, the pass game grade is a pretty notable amount of struggle within the stronger part of his game.
With all that said, it’s one game. Beyond that, it’s one game against a team that he’d been practicing against all week and probably had a pretty large amount of insight into how to best attack him. Overall, the one game struggle isn’t a big deal. If it continues though? Well, that would certainly add a pretty sizable hole at a critical spot on the offensive line and the offense isn’t exactly brimming with the talent necessary to hide that.
Long story short, hopefully it’s just a blip, but his play in the coming weeks is certainly something to monitor for those hoping for the Jets to outperform their projections.
