The 73rd iteration of the ACC Tournament gets underway on Tuesday afternoon with a triple-header of first-round games inside the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
While Virginia doesn’t take the floor until Thursday, keep it locked on Streaking the Lawn throughout the week, as Corbin Lathrop is on the ground with live updates and analysis from every game.
2:00 PM EST: In front of a sparse early-afternoon crowd, tenth-seeded
Stanford and fifteenth-seeded Pittsburgh tipped off what’s set to be an action-packed week of hoops here in Charlotte.
Day one of the ACC Tournament typically represents a sleepy start to the week, but Tuesday is sneakily a big day for the league. Each of Tuesday’s games features a team sitting precariously on the bubble ahead of Selection Sunday, beginning with the Cardinal, who can ill-afford a Quad 3 loss to a Panthers squad that narrowly sneaked into the ACC Tournament.
Game one of the day also carries significant intrigue for UVA. The winner of Stanford and Pittsburgh will take on seventh-seeded NC State on Wednesday for the right to play the ’Hoos in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
