Wake had the week off, and now they return to the Joel for yet another Q1 game. With their chances of making the NCAA Tournament this season all but gone, Wake still has something to play for—the Deacs are desperately looking for some ACC wins to avoid finishing in the bottom 3 of the conference and missing the ACC Tournament. To pull off the upset in this one, Wake is going to have to do a much better job defending the 3-point line than they did in their last game against NC State, as the Cards are currently shooting the 4th most 3’s per game in the nation at nearly 34 attempts per game. Two guys Wake will need to lock down are shooters Ryan Conwell and Isaac McKneely, who are a combined 138-378 (37%) from deep this season. They did not do a great job of that last season—the Deacs gave up 21 points to Conwell and 27 points to McKneely in their losses to Xavier and Virginia respectively. Louisville is just 2-4 on the road this season, so Wake may have a chance to steal one if the Cards have a bad shooting day.
Go Deacs!
