After a week of swirling njury news, the Seattle Seahawks only elevated one player from their practice squad ahead of their NFC Divisional Round matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Seahawks called
up running back Velus Jones Jr. to be the third running back behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Jones signed with the Seahawks in October following his release from the New Orleans Saints and has totaled four carries for 32 yards, all against the Atlanta Falcons, in his time with the Seahawks.
Jones was a third-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2022 and excelled as a kick returner in his time with the Bears and Saints. Originally drafted as a wide receiver, Jones could bring some added versatility to the lineup and provide quality depth behind kick returner and wideout Rashid Shaheed.
With only one practice squad elevation, the Seahawks only need to make six players inactive for game day. Those will be announced at about 3:30 pm PT.
