|| Dame SarrOne of the guys on this season’s team that we’re really pulling for is Cayden Boozer, subject of the latest Duke Chronicle Duke player preview.
We were really impressed with how he came on later in the season last year, and showed that he was much more than a sidekick.
This year, he’ll be no one’s sidekick.
Boozer obviously had
a devastating error against UConn on the last play of Duke’s season, but much like playing without twin brother Cameron, he shouldn’t let that define him.
He came back this season with a redefined body and an improved three-point shot. From the Chronicle:
“He emerged as a key player for head coach Jon Scheyer, ascending to the squad’s starting point guard while Caleb Foster sat out due to injury during the ACC Tournament and first few rounds of the NCAA Tournament. During the games in which he started, Boozer grew to showcase his scoring ability and experience as a ball handler in the backcourt, averaging double-digit points per game in the postseason while being named to the All-ACC Tournament Second Team. His season high in scoring came in the Blue Devils’ win against Siena in the first round of March Madness, where Boozer dropped 19 points and five assists to help prevent a historic upset.”
We’re really excited about what Boozer brings to the team this year.
