Tarik Skubal will make his Dodgers debut on Tuesday night against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. It will be the first career start for the two-time Cy Young Award winner at the friendly confines in Chicago.
The Dodgers on Sunday acquired Skubal from the Detroit Tigers for River Ryan, Zyhir Hope, and Brady Smith.
“We were of the mind to be aggressive for one player,” Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said Sunday at Dodger Stadium, “and fortunately we were able to line up.”
Right-hander Javier Assad starts on the mound for Chicago.
