If you have already had your coffee this morning, you may need to wait until you watch the latest hype video from Ole Miss football.
The soothing Southern vocals of David Kellum guide you through this nostalgic take on where Ole Miss has been and is now at the precipice of college football history. The No. 6 Rebels (11-1, 7-1 SEC) are awaiting its first College Football Playoff game against 11-seed Tulane (11-2, 7-1 AAC) on Dec. 20 at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Hoooooo boy, time to run through a brick wall.
That video was for the die hards like many of you who have been with Red Cup since our blogspot days when Ed Orgeron was at the helm. If you were in the stands for Jacksonville St. in 2010 and also in the stands for this season, you are a real one and deserve this happiness.
The last 20 or so years has been quite a journey for Ole Miss as a football program, but the last few years have truly been one of the best times to be a fan of this team.
And this year tops all of them thus far with plenty more to play for in a little more than a week. A chance to advance to the national quarterfinals against the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (12-1, 7-1 SEC) in a rematch of the Rebels only loss of the season.
