The Eagles lost DB coach Christian Parker who took a defensive coordinator position with the Cowboys, and now they might lost their defensive line coach, too. Clint Hurtt reportedly interviewed with the Dolphins
for their vacant DC job.
As with Parker, Hurtt getting a bigger and better opportunity seemed like only a matter of time, The DL coach was instrumental in getting Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter to take a leap this season, and was a big reason the Eagles were so dominant up front.
Even if Hurtt doesn’t get the Miami job, it does feel like he’ll be the next coach to get a chance to step into a bigger role. The Eagles will have a tough job filling his shoes, too, and will have to find someone that the guys respect and will get along with DC Vic Fangio.
It’s hard to imagine that the Eagles weren’t expecting this turnover on some level, especially given the success of that side of the ball last season.
