If you’ve been watching any college football the last few days, you’ve probably seen the new ACC “Accomplish Greatness” ads featuring bobbleheads. If you haven’t, take a look at them both here:
It’s part of the ACCOMPLISH GREATNESS campaign and you know it’s important because it’s in ALL CAPS…but that’s not all because these are now the ACC ICONS. We assume ACC ICONS are more important than ACC Legends because of the ALL CAPS, but no one tell Derrick Coleman that ok?
The ad campaign is described by
the conference in this manner.
Each of the ACC’s 18-member schools is represented by a custom-designed bobblehead, showcasing not just the unforgettable highlights but the character, culture and values that make the conference and its schools such a significant part of the college landscape.
First of all this seems like a blatant rip-off of “The Octonion” and “The Quindenion” so maybe our lawyers will be reaching out.
Second, who voiced Otto and why wasn’t it Anish Shroff or Beth Mowins? If we’re going to give Otto a voice it had better be an Orange lending their talents to the job.
We also want to know why the ACC uses mascots for every school but Florida State? Where are Osceola and/or Renegade? Did the league decide they didn’t want to negotiate with the school that first sued them? Is this supposed to best represent FSU? Was it all Jordon Hudson’s idea?
We wonder what will be next for Bobblehead Hall- will there be a visit from Powerhouse Hobbs or will schools be required to play the song that bears his name?
Now that Clemson lost, does it mean that SMU becomes the new Head of Household?
Don’t even get us started on the proposed basketball campaign where the ACC ICONS seek to use their powers to manipulate the NCAA MBB Selection Committee into believing that wins over Boston College and Cal should have greater value?
