What is the story about?

After two straight losses to the Las Vegas Acees, the Washington Mystics returned home and won against the Las Vegas Aces, 80-70 on Saturday night at CareFirst Arena.

The Mystics won this game obviously. But it wasn’t a … flawless victory. The Sparks were leading by as many as 9 points in the third quarter. But Washington outscored the Sparks, 25-12 in the fourth quarter to get the win and to their first 20 win season since 2023.

Kiki Iriafen led with 19 points for the Mystics tonight. Rae Burrell

led the Sparks with 20 points.

The Mystics’ next game is on Wednesday when they host the Toronto Tempo. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m. ET. It’s “Ready for School” night where most school districts in the immediate area will be enjoying their last week or so of summer break while some school districts like Loudoun County, Frederick County (Virginia) and the West Virginia panhandle are already back.
