Last week, I posed the question — are the Sixers good?
Well, in the time since, the team dropped three straight games to the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder. They’ve started a season-long,
five-game road trip 0-2 (and the next three games are no picnic) and have a 16-14 record, which is still good for sixth in the East.
The team also moved to 0-4 with all three members of the Big 3 playing together. The context certainly matters with those loses, but the reality is they’re losses. Nick Nurse and those three max players need to find a way to make it all work. The bench has also become a sneaky problem with the shooting struggles of Quentin Grimes and Jared McCain being exacerbated by the absences of Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford.
So, what’s the biggest issue? A general lack of continuity? Guys underperforming? The head coach underperforming? Or did they happen to play those three teams at a bad time?
