Penn State adds another former Iowa State player to the roster, wide receiver Karon Brookins.
After Matt Campbell officially took the Penn State job, Brookins was one of the first players who announced they’d be entering the transfer portal. After having visited over the weekend, the former Cyclone receiver is now a Nittany Lion.
Brookins redshirted in 2025, so he’ll have four years of eligibility left to play. A 3-star player out of high school in New Jersey,
was the No. 26 player in the state, and No. 124 receiver, per 247. He received offers from Pitt, West Virginia, and Temple. A bit of a connection trivia, former Penn State running back Bill Belton was his coach in high school.
With a wide receiver group lacking in experience after the departures of Trebor Peña, Kyron Hudson, Devonte Roos, Liam Clifford to eligibility, and Kaden Saunders, Anthony Ivey, Josiah Brown, and Jeff Exinor, there will be plenty of opportunity for a new crop of receivers to take the reins, given that only Koby Howard and Tyseer Denmark are the only returning receivers with any meaningful experience.
