The Dallas Cowboys have played two games since being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, and every time they have spoken about their situation they have noted that they want to win their remaining
games.
Through those two opportunities the Cowboys have split the games in question, and after Sunday’s finale against the New York Giants will be squarely on one side of the line. Given the way the overall season has gone a win would put the Cowboys above .500 through the games in question, but it would slot them in at .500 overall on the season as a whole with an 8-8-1 record.
Jokes will be made, but that doesn’t seem to bother the Cowboys. Team leadership has noted that they want to avoid a losing season and technically speaking reaching .500 would do that. For our discussion here today we want to know if avoiding a losing record matters at all to you?
It makes sense that this would matter to the coaches and players as this is their job. As fans though we obviously approach all of this with a different disposition. It is possible that you would be unmoved by either finish or that you may even be upset about a win as it would compromise draft position. Consider our friends at Big Blue View and how mad they were on Sunday when the Giants beat the Raiders and in all likelihood cost themselves the number one overall pick. Their comment section is upset!
