It’s Sunday once more, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! With the four seed locked up and the division out of reach, most of this week was a late September spring training for the Yankees, complete with a weekend filled with rain, rain, and somehow, even more wind than rain. Despite all that, though, this was quite a busy week in the Bronx, one filled to the brim with celebration. Let’s get started!
No. 52
Our lead story of the week is, of course, Saturday night’s
Friday afternoon’s ceremony retiring CC Sabathia’s No. 52 and enshrining the great southpaw in Monument Park. While we are all sad that Yankee Stadium was not as filled as it should have been due to this weekend’s rain — in fact, the Bleacher Creatures tried, but failed, to get a “Thank You, CC” chant rolling around the Stadium, a real testament to the scarcity of the crowd — Sabathia certainly brought enough excitement for all of us.

Josh Hart Day
It was Josh Hart bobblehead day at Yankee Stadium on Friday, where the NBA Champion threw out the ceremonial first pitch — a strike from the rubber!
Fun fact: this givewaway was actually scheduled before the Knicks won the championship, and was scheduled because Hart is the great-nephew of Elston Howad.
The Kids are in the House
With the Scranton RailRiders season over, the social media admin for the minor league team visited the Bronx — and was gifted with a Ben Rice home run.
