Eddie Kingston has been away from AEW recovering from injury. It sounds like he’ll be back in action real soon.
During Collision on Saturday night (Sep. 6, 2025), Kingston’s name was summoned. He’s not like Joe Hendry, so he did n0t appear. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen soon though.
Big Bill cut a promo with Bryan Keith as backup. In the midst of trashing Philadelphia fans, he turned his attention to New York tough guys. Bill should know, since he is a tough guy himself. One fake tough guy that
we haven’t heard from lately is Kingston, so Bill called him out. The crowd popped at the mention of Kingston’s name.
Kingston has been out of action since suffering a serious leg injury against Gabe Kidd in NJPW on May 11, 2024. The recovery is long and arduous. It’s not clear yet when Kingston will be back exactly. AEW doesn’t have any upcoming shows in New York. The next episodes of Dynamite and Collision wrap up the 2300 Arena residency in Philly. PPV could be another spotlight for Kingston, and AEW’s next endeavor is All Out on September 20 from Toronto, Canada. If that’s not the plan, then it is anyone’s guess what date AEW has in store for the Mad King.
Love him or hate him, Kingston brings an aura of intensity that is hard to replicate. His return should bring in fire to fill the hole with Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, and Kenny Omega on the injured list.
