The Detroit Lions (6-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) will square off in a Week 11 “Sunday Night Football” showdown between two of the best teams in the NFC.
While the Lions emphatically got back to their
winning ways with a Week 10 victory over the Washington Commanders, the defending Super Champions have yet to play in Week 10, as they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers on “Monday Night Football.”
Despite the week not yet being over, that won’t stop the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook from setting the Week 11 initial betting line, which opens at Lions +1.5 points.
After starting the season 4-0, the Eagles dropped back-to-back games against the Denver Broncos and New York Giants. They managed to get back on track the next week against the Minnesota Vikings, then got their revenge on the Giants and secured their sixth win on the season heading into their bye week. A win on Monday night over the Packers would allow the Eagles to keep pace with the Seattle Seahawks and L.A. Rams, both of which are 7-2 on the season.
This season, the loaded Eagles offense has been solid, but a bit clunky week-to-week, while their defense has been uncharacteristically closer to the middle of the pack than the dominating unit it once was. As a result, the Eagles were active at the trade deadline, acquiring Jaelan Phillips from the Miami Dolphins and two cornerbacks in Michael Carter (nickelback from the New York Jets) and Jaire Alexander (from the Baltimore Ravens).
The new acquisitions will have the upcoming game against the Packers to settle in (except for Alexander, who has been ruled out) before readying themselves on a short week for a Lions offense that just dropped 44 points in Washington.
