Barcelona met with Jan Virgili’s agents on Monday to discuss transfer plans for the forward ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.
Virgili has been linked with a return to Barcelona this season and does look set to move after Real Mallorca were relegated.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have a few options when it comes to Virgili’s future. The club still own 40% of his rights and could buy up the rest for just €7.2 million.
MD say that Barcelona could then keep hold of him, particularly
as Roony Bardghji could leave on loan, and give him a chance in the first-team squad next season. Virgili has already admitted it would be “hard to say no” if Barca did come calling.
The winger can play on both flanks which does make him a versatile option for Hansi Flick.
The second option would be to buy the rest of his rights and then either loan him out or sell at a profit. Virgili is currently valued at around €15m, meaning Barca could make some money off the winger this summer.
