Good morning, Canes.
Here we go to start your Saturday:
Indiana blows out Oregon 56-22 in Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, advances to CFP National Championship Game
Miami won their CFP Semifinal 2 nights ago, and Indiana won theirs last night.
The Hoosiers demolished Oregon 56-22 in a game that was never close.
Indiana got a pick-6 on the first snap of the game, and cruised from there. They scored 28 points off of turnovers (1 pick-6, 2 fumbles, 1 blocked punt) and physically dominated Oregon at every available opportunity.
With the win, Indiana moves to 15-0 and looks to secure their first National Championship next Monday night. We hope they don’t, obviously, as Miami is the opponent.
Next up: The College Football Playoff National Championship game at Hard Rock Stadium
The National Championship Game is set.
#10 Miami Hurricanes (13-2) vs #1 Indiana Hoosiers (15-0)
Miami open as underdogs in the National Championship Game
Miami has been favorites in 12 of their 15 games this season. The only times they weren’t: the opener against Notre Dame, the CFP first round against Texas A&M, and the CFP Quarterfinals against Ohio State. Miami were favorites against Ole Miss, since I know some people think I missed that one. I did not.
After beating Ole Miss, Miami is an underdog in the National Championship Game. The early line had Miami as a 5.5pt underdog against Indiana. After Indiana’s demolition of Oregon in the 1st half last night, that number went up slightly. The actual opening line:
This line is fine. Indiana is a strong team with an undefeated record, and they deserve to be favored. Regardless of the line, Miami will be prepared and give everything to win a National Championship.
“Cool story, Cam”. I know, I know. Just sharing the number, well the hypothetical numbers in this case, same as I have every week this season. Do with that information as you will.
