Former UFC fighter and disgraced NFL star
Greg Hardy is scheduled to compete in the Fight Nation Championship (FNC) 31 co-main event against fellow Octagon veteran Darko Stosic on Sat. (May 30) at Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia.Hardy, 37, tipped the scale at 292 pounds, 26 pounds over the heavyweight limit.
Stosic, 34, weighed in at 239.6 pounds.
“Exceeding the weight limit by 12 kilograms shows a serious lack of discipline and respect for the opponent, organization and fans,” Stosic said after the weigh ins (via MMA Rocks). “The fight could have been canceled, but it’s not my style. I did my part of the job professionally as always. Regardless of the circumstances, my goal remains the same — to enter the cage prepared and give the maximum of myself.”
Hardy (8-5, 1 NC) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Phillip Latu at Peak Fighting 50 back in January. As for Stosic (22-8), who already has three fights under the FNC banner, he stopped UFC veteran Oli Thompson at FNC 27 last February in Munich.
