We’ve heard from Lyra Valkyria since she snapped and attacked Bayley following their loss to WWE Women’s Tag champs Brie Bella & Paige on the June 22 Raw in London. It took almost a month, but the now-ex-tag partners shared a ring together on Raw last night (Julu 13) to follow up on Valkyria turning heel on her former mentor.
It gave us an extended look at the Irishwoman’s take on an unhinged character, complete with a ratty cable-knit sweater straight from the Pamela Vorhees collection (over a bedazzled
skirt with matching black boots, because the bird lady apparently insists on some outfit coordination even while in the midst of a full-on mental breakdown). After airing their greivances, the segment ended with Bayley taking her own move and Lyra sarcastically doing her babyface poses. It all built to their match at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in New York City.
It also gave Bayley’s wrestling soulmate Mercedes Moné another chance to play into speculation about Bayley’s WWE contract status, and a possible Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection and/or TakeOver: Brooklyn rematch in AEW. The back-t0-back Owen Hart Cup winner posted this after the above segment streamed live Monday night…
Last month, fka Sasha Banks posted a mock graphic for a Moné vs. Davina Rose (the name Bayley used on the independent scene prior to signing with WWE) at an AEW PPV this October.
Rumors at the time were split on whether Bayley’s current WWE deal expires at the end of this year or next, either of which would rule out WrestleDream… the 2026 edition of which hasn’t even been announced yet. But maybe Mercedes knows more than the rumormongers, or maybe she’s messing with us while planting seeds in Bayley’s mind.
