After being cast off by the New York Giants in the middle of the 2024 season, quarterback Daniel Jones joined the Minnesota Vikings because he knew that if he wasn’t going to start anywhere else during the remainder of the season, he might as well go sharpen his skills under one of the league’s top quarterback whisperers in Kevin O’Connell.
Well, it looks like that time to step back and polish his game has paid off.
On Tuesday morning, the Indianapolis Colts announced that Jones will be their starting
quarterback to begin the 2025 season. He beat out former third-overall pick Anthony Richardson who continues to be hampered by injuries since being drafted in 2022.
Now of course this news has no effect on the Vikings whatsoever. They will not face the Colts during this regular season so we do not get to experience that tie-in at all, but it’s just another feather in the cap of KOC that showa no matter what passer comes under his tutelage, they’re usually better of for it in the end.
