The documentary that absolutely no one wants is here and it is not failing to deliver on James Rodríguez playing the victim and being as petulant as ever.
James, a three-part documentary on Netflix explores the life and career of Colombian football star James Rodríguez and was seemingly released for anyone looking to cure insomnia.
As expected, the former Bayern Munich attacker sharpened his knives a bit for the German Rekordmeister with his own special brand of whining and self pity. X account @iMiaSanMia
captured this nugget from the film, which is delivering exactly what many people thought it would:
James Rodríguez recalls anecdotes about his time at Bayern in his new Netflix documentary
“In my first year, I was lucky that Carlo Anceloti and Jupp Heynckes spoke Spanish. In the second year, Kovac arrived. Every coach has his favourites, and I wasn’t one of them. He wanted the players to do 30 minutes of cycling after training, I would say to him: ‘What am I training for? Am I going to the Tour de France or what?’ I’m a football player”
On German lessons: “I couldn’t get through them, I kept falling asleep. I told him, ‘I don’t want to learn'”
BFW Commentary
This pretty much confirms what many people knew for years — Rodríguez was an overrated diva, who felt like he deserved special treatment, and could only function if was a coach’s “special little boy” at Bayern Munich.
Whether he was complaining about a “lack of confidence and trust”, longing for a return to Real Madrid, showing up late to team training, or complaining about Germany being cold and having cold people, it was always someone else’s fault, while he was the victim in the scenario.
The “kind words” about the club or the fans that he would occasionally say when he was at Bayern Munich were always hollow, forced, and for public relations-sake only. Since leaving, it has been a world tour of jumping from club to club and holding pity parties for himself worldwide.
Having Rodríguez on a team is like the old adage about boats — the two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.
Ditto for James Rodríguez.
