It’s election season in Barcelona which means all the presidential candidates are doing their best to win votes and curry favor.
Victor Font is the latest to speak out about potential incomings, telling reporters that a big-name striker signing should not be ruled out.
He told Mundo Deportivo: “If things are done right, Haaland or Julián Álvarez are possible.”
Barcelona are regularly linked with both strikers even though they both possess lofty price tags. Joan Laporta is said to be obsessed with signing
Haaland but he’s currently contracted to Manchester City until 2034.
Alvarez is thought to be another dream of Laporta’s, but he is expected to cost over 100 million euros if he does move on from Atletico.
Barcelona fans are used to seeing the club linked with big-name superstars but would probably be more interested to hear from Font on how the club could afford to land players such as Haaland and Alvarez given their continued financial issues.
