Barcelona and Mallorca have reached full agreement on a permanent transfer for Blaugrana winger Jan Virgili, according to Diario SPORT.
The two sides met in consecutive days this week to discuss the deal, and now there is an agreement: Barça will sell Virgili for around €3 million and keep 50% of his rights, meaning they’ll receive half the profits of a future sale.
Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate was crucial to the deal as he personally recruited Virgili and offered him a big role on his squad, who
lack a true winger and can give Virgili a chance to play top-flight football which was a major desire for the 19-year-old.
Virgili shined for Barça’s youth teams last season and was hoping for a chance with the first team this season, but Hansi Flick and his staff felt he wasn’t quite ready to make the jump to the senior squad.
Virgili now gets an opportunity to play big league football at Mallorca, and he won’t be the only former Blaugrana there with Pablo Torre having already joined from Barça earlier this summer and both Héctor Fort and Dani Rodríguez possibly also joining on loan before the end of the window.
