Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal hailed Raphinha after the Brazilian scored a brace in Monday’s 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Raphinha’s started the season in superb form, playing as the team’s No. 9, and has already scored five times for Hansi Flick’s side.
Bernal says he’s the perfect captain for Barcelona and a true role model to the younger players in the squad.
“Raphinha is a role model because he helps us all a lot. Especially the younger ones. He’s approachable, and that’s what we want,
a captain like that,” he told DAZN. Let’s keep working. Let’s try to achieve all our goals.
“I’m very happy with the match. This is Barça, the biggest club in the world, and that’s the competition. It’s what you have to do. Competition is good and healthy.”
Bernal was also happy to see Lamine Yamal score his first goals of the season as the teenager put in an impressive display at Camp Nou.
“Lamine hasn’t been able to score in recent matches, but he has demonstrated his quality throughout his career. Today he scored and we are happy for him,” added Bernal.
Barcelona return to La Liga action on Sunday against Valencia and then open up their Champions League campaign after Feyenoord.
