The winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or will be announced later today in a glitzy ceremony in Paris as the best player in the world will be officially crowned.
Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal and Paris Saint-Germain
star Ousmane Dembele are the two hot favorites for the prize after thrilling the football world over the last 12 months.
Yamal will become the youngest player ever to pick up the prize if he wins this year, and he’s already being tipped to go on and become a serial Ballon d’Or winner.
The teenager scored 18 goals and grabbed 25 assists last season as Barca won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
However, Dembele took home more trophies as he was part of a PSG side that won the quadruple, including a maiden Champions League title.
Other names in the frame are Raphinha, Vitinha, Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah – and yes it is bizarre that Pedri isn’t among the favorites this year.
