New England Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel spent last season with the Cleveland Browns as a coaching and personnel consultant. After a year of learning the ins and outs of the Cleveland organization,
he was hired in New England. Vrabel will have a chance to face off against the very people who hired him last year and apply some of those learnings to his game plan. Should the Browns be concerned about the knowledge Vrabel carries heading into Sunday’s game?
He was especially involved in the Browns’ defense and has deep knowledge about the players on that side of the ball. This information should allow him to exploit the weaknesses of specific players and tailor the Patriots offense in a way that will make things challenging for Jim Schwartz’s defense.
Vrabel also worked closely with special teams coach Bubba Ventrone and spent quite a bit of time working with the tight ends and the offensive line. This range of experiences gives him a special insight into how the Cleveland offense operates.
Overall, there are some real concerns for the Browns going into this matchup. They will have to come into this game with a unique game plan on both sides of the ball to have a chance of being competitive in Sunday’s game.
Let me know what you think in the comments – Does Vrabel’s connection to the Browns worry you for Sunday’s matchup?
