Four-Star Edge Rusher Schedules Visit
Four-star 2027 edge rusher Mekai Brown has scheduled a visit for the season opener in 11 days:
The Greenwich, Connecticut native is the No. 20 edge rusher and No. 2 player from Connecticut in the 2027 class. Brown took an unofficial visit to Penn State earlier this
summer, when he received his offer.
Penn State’s 2027 Class Ranks No. 1
The 2027 recruiting cycle is in the beginning stages, but the Nittany Lions have an early edge, with 247 currently ranking the class No. 1 overall.
In-state target Gabe Jenkins committed to Penn State yesterday, giving the Lions their fourth blue-chip prospect in the 2027 class. As of today, the Nittany Lions have two five-star prospects in the 2027 class compared to zero in 2026 and 2025. We have seen the program struggle to continue recruiting momentum after hot starts, but the starting point in 2027 looks very strong today.
An Early Look at The 2028 Class
While the 2027 recruiting cycle is beginning to pick up steam, Penn State is also looking ahead to the 2028 class:
Pennsylvania has only two players in the current top 100 of the 2028 class, though it is still very early. New Jersey and Maryland will be critical in this class, as they normally are for Penn State recruiting. With the regular season just around the corner, expect to see more visits and offers pile up in the coming months.
