The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to take on the New Orleans Saints at Stade de France in Paris on Sunday morning. This contest will mark the NFL’s first-ever game in Paris, and the Steelers are looking to stand out even more in front of the whole world with a new uniform combo.
The Steelers announced they’ll wear their traditional white away jersey, but with black pants and a gold stripe. Usually, the Steelers sport their traditional gold pants with a black stripe with the away jerseys.
The black pants with the gold stripe down the side are normally worn with the Steelers color rush uniforms. This is a pretty notable thing for the Steelers, who have rarely strayed away from switching up their traditional uniform combinations around.
“Football is an evolving sport, and it’s so awesome that we get a chance to go and show the world that this is the greatest sport, and why it’s the greatest sport,” Steelers edge rusher Nick Herbig said via steelers.com. “I’m super honored and blessed that I get to go out there and do it and get to put on a new uniform combination too.”
It seems like the fans and players alike are excited for the Steelers to be playing in the league’s first game in Paris and also debuting a new uniform combination.
