Enrique Cerezo says he’s completed relaxed about Julian Alvarez’s future amid reported interest from Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are thought to be keen on signing the Atletico star but a move is looking unlikely due to his lofty price tag and Barcelona’s financial issues.
Cerezo has been asked about the situation again and says he hasn’t spoken to Barcelona or any other clubs.
“Julián has a long-term contract with Atlético de Madrid, and I truly believe that both parties want him to stay, the club
and him,” he told Marca.
“We haven’t had any conversations, formal or informal, with Barcelona or any other club, because what we want is for him to remain with us, because he’s a fantastic player.”
Cerezo was then pushed further on Alvarez’s future and added: “I’m calm. Not just calm, I’m completely calm.”
Alvarez’s agent has previously admitted that the forward would love to play for Barcelona, but there seems little hope of him being able to secure a move to the Catalan giants as things stand currently.
