Barcelona have been dealt another injury blow as left-back Jofre Torrents has been ruled out of action for 10-12 weeks with an ankle injury.
Torrents had to be helped off the pitch at the weekend after sustaining the injury while playing for Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona Atletic and looked in real pain.
Barcelona have now offered an update on the teenager and it’s bad news.
The club said in a statement: “The medical tests carried out have shown that Jofre Torrents, a player from Barça Atlètic, has a syndesmosis
injury to his left ankle. The estimated recovery time will be between 10 and 12 weeks.”
Torrents is the latest Barca Atletic player to suffer a serious injury this season and joins talented youngsters such as Sama Nomoko, Oscar Gistau, Dani Rodriguez, Ibrahim Diarra, and Landry Farre on the injured list.
He may struggle to play again this season which is a real blow as he looks a great prospect. The left-back made his first team debut on the team’s pre-season tour and has been tipped to break into the first team.
Get well soon, Jofre Torrents.
