After a week of rest, the Buffs are healthy and ready for their Rumble in the Rockies matchup with the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City this evening. Colorado has released their pre-game injury report, and it’s
much shorter than the weeks prior.
Five players have been listed as out for the Buffs: WR Hykeem Williams, CB Makari Vickers, RB Simeon Price, OL Yahya Attia and OL Aki Ogunbiyi.
Price and Vickers are the most pressing absences for Colorado. Price had emerged as Colorado’s most talented power-runner in the run-up to his injury, while Vickers has been a pivotal piece to the Buffs’ depth at corner in recent weeks. Williams’ absence will be felt, but to a much lesser extent due to the impressive depth of CU’s WR room. Attia and Ogunbiyi will sit tonight, but both linemen are fairly deep down on the depth chart.
CB RJ Johnson, S Carter Stourmire and DE Nikhil Webb-Walker are all listed as gametime decisions.
Absent from the injury report are DT Amari McNeill, DE Anquin Barnes Jr, DT Tawfiq Thomas, WR/RB Drelon Miller and RB DeKalon Taylor, which is an indication that all will be active against the Utes this evening. S Tawfiq Byard was also left on the injury report after suffering a broken bone in his hand against Iowa State in CU’s last game. Byard finished the ISU game in a cast and caught the game-sealing interception despite the injury, so his exclusion from the report isn’t surprising.
Colorado will kick off against Utah shortly, so make sure to keep up with us here on Ralphie Report for all of your gameday content. Relax, enjoy the game, and as always, Sko Buffs!
