Sunday night comes to a close with a big NFC matchup in primetime. Detroit Lions fans will want to watch closely as the Green Bay Packers—Detroit’s next opponent—host the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers look rebounded after a concerning 1-2 start to the season. They’ve now won two in a row, including an impressive and decisive win over the Chicago Bears last week.
The Cowboys are just 2-3 on the season, and they’re coming off a particularly embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the NFC
East is a complete mess, and they are still very much alive in the division after the Eagles and Giants both lost on Sunday afternoon. The NFC East standings are as follows:
- Giants: 3-2-1
- Cowboys: 2-3
- Eagles: 2-4
- Commanders: 1-3-1 (they play on Monday night)
If the Packers win on Sunday night, the Lions will move to the bottom of the NFC North, as the Bears won on Sunday, and the Minnesota Vikings are also on their bye week. As a reminder, here are the divisional standings through Sunday afternoon’s games:
- Vikings: 5-0
- Bears: 4-2
- Packers: 3-2
- Lions: 3-2
