Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross made the decision to fire Mike McDaniel as the team’s head coach late last week — but sometimes one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
The former Dolphins head coach
is reportedly in high demand — and will interview for four head coaching vacancies, plus one offensive coordinator job this week.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, McDaniel will interview with the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens for their head coaching jobs, while also sitting down with Detroit Lions ownership to discuss the possibility of him joining the staff as offensive coordinator.
McDaniel coached Miami to a 35-32 regular season record during his four seasons as the head coach of the team. He was 0-2 in playoff games — losing to the Buffalo Bills following the 2022 season and the Kansas City Chiefs following the 2023 season. The Dolphins missed the playoffs in McDaniel’s final two years as the team’s head coach.
While the Dolphins are conducting an extension search to find their new head-man-in-charge, their former coach looks to have plenty of options when it comes to continuing his career as well.
